Intraoral Camera
It can be hard to commit to a dental procedure when you don’t fully understand what the problem actually is. Telling you about your oral health issues isn’t always enough; we want to be able to show you exactly what’s going on with your smile. With our Digital Doc oral cameras, we can take high quality pictures of your teeth and display them on our chairside monitor. It’s much easier to be an active participant in your own oral care when you can see your oral health issues the way your dentist does!
Digital X-Rays
Our X-ray systems utilize state of the art Gendex sensors that come in adult and child sizes so that all our patients can stay comfortable while we take pictures of the inside of their mouths. One of the big advantages of using digital X-rays over traditional ones is that there’s less radiation involved, making the procedure much safer for our patients and our staff. Also, digital X-rays don’t take much time to develop; they’ll be available for viewing right away so that we can quickly move forward with your appointment!
CT/Cone Beam Scanner
Since our dental office places dental implants and offers other advanced procedures in-house, a CT cone beam scanner is an absolute must. We favor a Prexion scanner that offers top quality clarity and precision when it comes to planning treatments. The device takes multiple pictures of your mouth and relevant dental structures, then combines them into a model that can be examined from every angle for planning purposes. We will use our cone beam scanner in situations where traditional X-rays won’t give us enough information.
Cavity Detection System
Some cavities start extremely small – so small that even a knowledgeable dentist might miss them just by looking. We want to be absolutely sure that we haven’t overlooked any signs of decay, which is why we use DEXIS CariVu to aid us in detecting cavities. The device emits a special infrared life that makes enamel transparent; any lesions in the tooth will absorb the light and appear as a dark spot, making them much easier to identify.
